180 million euros to support electric traction in Czechia

Rail in the Czech Republic is yet to benefit from another state aid scheme. The EU Commission approved a package of 180 million euros to support rail operators using electric traction. The measure targets improving the environmental performance of rail; however, it is also critical in the context of the energy crisis and the support that rail operators need to cope with high electricity prices.

A pity it is, that Commission has been and is stuck at old standards, optimal when steam was shifted out, thus virtually “cementing”, industry of railways!
Goal of Union was/is nearness, within market!
Electrification, yes, but an optimal, etc., etc.!
