‘The biggest obstacle of the North Sea-Baltic rail corridor is the lack of ERTMS’

Catherine Trautmann

Bottlenecks in the network that hinder the operation of 740-meter freight trains should also be tackled as soon as possible, says Catherine Trautmann, who is European coordinator of the North Sea-Baltic rail corridor since 2014.

I am sceptic that the biggest bottleneck is lack of ERTMS on Baltic corridor. I mean from Polish border to north exactly. Please consider the length and layout of the north part of the corridor. No added value to the rail business but much bigger for service providers.
I fully agree to provide the running of the long trains on the corridor. That is efficient step.
