In a move aimed at enhancing the supply of aggregates to its customers and contributing to sustainable transportation, rail freight customer and ardent advocate company Tarmac, has announced the reopening of the rail connection at Hillhead Quarry in Derbyshire’s scenic Peak District. The CRH group company is a household name on the UK industrial scene, specialising in building materials and construction solutions. The development involves the establishment of a new internal rail siding, effectively linking Hillhead Quarry, situated near the market town of Buxton, to the national rail network.
