The European Silk Road Summit goes to Budapest, registrations are open
The European Silk Road Summit, the largest event dedicated to the New Silk Road, is preparing for its 7th edition, which will take place between 29 November and 1 December in Budapest. This year’s central theme, ‘Bridging Boundaries, Expanding Network,’ will focus on alternatives.
While the main route is still open, the last couple of years have created increased possibilities for the Middle Corridor and the CEE and Balkan regions, and this year’s event will dive into them. Registrations are already open, so make sure to reserve your place.
How is the Middle Corridor developing, and what actions does it need to increase its capacity? We will try to answer this question by breaking down the multimodal route into three parts: the Caspian Sea, the Black Sea and the role of Turkey. Moreover, we will thoroughly examine the CEE and Balkan regions, which are naturally served by alternative routes like the Middle Corridor. Is infrastructure sufficient in these regions, and can they be considered part of the New Silk Road?

At the same time, a call for papers is running until 31 August, so make sure also to apply and pitch points and ideas to discuss during the two-day conference.
Conference, awards and more
As mentioned above, the European Silk Road Summit 2023 in Budapest will last three days between 29 November and 1 December. On the evening of 29 November, a welcoming reception with drinks will be held so that delegates can meet each other before the official programme starts.
On 30 November, the event will kick off with the conference at InterContinental Budapest. The conference day will include plenary and breakout sessions, networking breaks and drinks, while it will close with a seated, multiple-course networking dinner. Most importantly, the Silk Road Ambassador 2023 will be unveiled during the conference day. The event will end on 1 December with a site visit in one of Budapest’s key logistic locations.
