Sandra Gehenot, Freight Director at the International Union of Railways (UIC), will also be there, examining the link between the Silk Road and Europe’s rail freight corridors. Day one will begin with a technical visit, giving delegates a behind-the-scenes look at Poland’s logistical chains.

Day two (March 22) will see Dr Klara Paardenkooper, Senior Lecturer at Rotterdam Business School, look at how ‘blockchain’ technology can benefit the logistics chain, and then specifically its implementation within the Silk Road project. The summit is being chaired by Mel Dees, Chief Editor of NT Publishers, which produces the Netherlands-based Nieuwsblad Transport, a co-sponsor of the event. More speakers will be confirmed shortly.
