BRAND STORY – The French software provider CRX Software keeps expanding in the Spanish market. A deal with Transfesa Logistics to incorporate the RailCube solution into its systems signals the company’s fifth partnership in Spain. “At CRX Software, we are delighted to continue to expand in Spain by adding such an established Railway Undertaking as Transfesa Logistics”, comments the company’s CCO, Dennis Hendriksen.

With this development, Transfesa Logistics can use the solution’s features to optimize its operational environment, communications with the infrastructure manager and fleet monitoring.

Specifically, the RailCube solution will assist Transfesa in effectively implementing connectivity with industry systems and platforms such as “TAF TSI communication with ADIF, the infrastructure manager in Spain, Hermes for communication between Railway Undertakings using H30 messages, the Orfeus platform for Electronic Consignment and wagon keeper platforms GCU Broker and RSRD2”, among other things.

The acronyms TAF and TSI stand for Telematics Applications for Freight (TAF) and Technical Specification for Interoperability (TSI). According to ERA, they are related to the official guidelines that “define the technical and operational standards which must be met by each subsystem or part of a subsystem to meet the essential requirements and ensure the interoperability of the railway system of the European Union”.

A fully integrated solution

“Transfesa Logistics is a beneficiary of the project I-Rail – Interoperability of the rail system with TAF TSI in TEN-T corridors. Working with RailCube will help our company reach the key project milestones with a robust solution”, comments Clara Quiroga, project manager at Transfesa Logistics.

However, this is not the only benefit that RailCube will offer to Transfesa. Quiroga mentioned that the solution’s most important feature is that it is fully integrated. Communications aside, RailCube can contribute to “a fully digitalized safety management system alongside other maintenance and asset management functionalities included in the standard RailCube solution”, she stresses.

Big step forward

For CRX Software, it’s not the first time working with a Spanish RU. “This is the fifth RU in Spain choosing for the RailCube software suite. With the RailCube solution, Transfesa will be utilising a fully functioning TAF TSI-based connection with the Spanish infrastructure manager”, says Dennis Hendriksen. At the same time, he underlines that when speaking about a fully integrated solution, RailCube is being very serious since it can be used in a range of other things than the ones already mentioned.

“Transfesa employees will also be using many modules simultaneously and therefore benefit from the real-time integration between modules such as Planning, Fleet, Safety and HR, amongst others. The new partnership justifies the RailCube motto, being the ultimate ERP solution for every RU”, he concludes.

About RailCube

Developed by CRX Software, RailCube is multilingual, multi-IM, and multi-referential and is already compatible with the interoperability standards for data exchange between systems respecting UIC standards (TAF / TAP TSI). Most importantly, the solution can fit into the railway “ecosystem” by connecting to existing operational and third-party systems.

Within a single application, RailCube offers all the features necessary for railway operators to manage operations and safety, responding to their needs with simplicity and pragmatism. It does not require the establishment of a technical infrastructure or extensive use of IT resources: the entire platform is hosted on a redundant, resilient architecture with the constant support of the technical experts who have designed and developed the solution.
