Supply chains will probably survive Germany’s new China strategy
‘We need to release ourselves from the cheap Chinese supply chains’. ‘We could be moving to a new Cold War era’. ‘We need to be sensible and seize economic possibilities with China’. These contrasting viewpoints circulated since Germany’s new strategy on China leaked into German media. The strategy aims to reduce Germany’s dependency on China and sparked all kinds of reactions. Yet, the approach might be way more realistic than we think, and the supply chain could survive it or even thrive.
