Ukrainian Railways plans 20% tariff increase in 2024, shippers not happy

Ukrainian Railways are planning to implement a 20 per cent increase in their freight tariffs starting January 2024. The state-owned company says that this will result from a tariff indexation and unification process closer to the European tariff model. However, shippers are concerned that the upcoming price increase is part of a vicious circle where Ukrainian Railways attempts to compensate for dropping volumes and revenue at the expense of shippers.
