
Arcelor Mittal and Renfe Mercancias start test run on new Pajares Bypass
The Pajares Bypass is one of the key Spanish projects for the connection between the Leon and Asturias regions, in the northwest, and it is part of the TEN-T Atlantic Corridor. Last week, a freight train run by Renfe and Arcelor Mittal ran through the new section for the first time to test the reliability of the infrastructure. The convoy, according to Adif, completed the journey from Pola de Lena to Pajares in 42 minutes, compared to the two hours it used to take.
