The UK journey towards sustainable energy growth is a little further down the line. The Port of Tyne, serving the Newcastle area on the north-east coast of England, has signed a new agreement with Drax, an industry leader in renewable power generation. Drax has agreed a new four-year deal for the import and conveyance of sustainably sourced biomass pellets. The deal depends on and highlights the pivotal role of rail freight operations in facilitating this bulk cargo operation.
