Ukrainian farmers: ‘How can we become an EU member when treated like that?’

Ukrainian farmers are facing several difficulties currently as the summer harvest season approaches. Regarding exports, solutions through the Danube are producing the best results so far, while alternative routes via the Baltics or Croatia are considered entirely or partially unfeasible. For the Ukrainian export endeavour to become successful, the EU needs to either make rail transport way cheaper than it is currently or assist Ukraine in securing transit via Black Sea ports.
