Freight figures in Transpennine Route reckoning overcome concerns

The Transpennine Route Upgrade has the potential to bolster rail freight capabilities significantly. Though freight operators had expressed concerns about capacity limitations, Network Rail assures that the upgrade includes provisions for freight traffic, offering the potential to run 15 additional freight trains daily, effectively removing more than 1,000 lorries from roads each day.
