PSJC TransContainer, the Russian rail freight service provider has acquired an account on the Alibaba marketplace. With this move, the company aims to gain more visibility in the Chinese market.

Customers can surf their way through tailor-made logistics services on the company’s page according to their needs. They offer cargo transport solutions by rail but also multimodal options using sea and river transport. The covered areas include Russia, Asia and Europe. Additional functions for customers can vary from choosing cargo forwarding services to terminal handling and last-mile deliveries.

Turning towards e-commerce

The Russian company identifies the extreme market pull towards e-commerce and has launched a multi-staged development plan in this direction. Alibaba.com is the first step, while more will follow since the company wants to expand to other platforms.

“In the future, we’ll test other platforms to choose the most efficient and comfortable ones in terms of interaction with the customers. This will help us explore the market needs and contribute to the development and flexibility of our services as a response to the customers’ requests”, explained Nikita Pushkarev, sales and customer service director at PJSC TransContainer.
