‘HS2 completion is not the only way forward,’ says Network Rail chief

Andrew Haines, the chief executive of Network Rail, has called for unity in the rail industry in order to prosper. The appeal comes in the wake of the UK Government’s announcement that it will cancel almost all of the high-speed rail project known as HS2, which, in Haines’ view, is just part of a broader issue that the UK rail industry needs to address.
