Two large players in Eurasian transport, FESCO and GEFCO, have partnered up. Their aim is to jointly develop more multimodal solutions between Europe, Russia and South-East Asia. The new agreement also mentions transportation options to the USA.

“The agreement is just the beginning of close cooperation between the two groups, said Arkady Korostelev, president of FESCO. The companies will cooperate in organising multimodal transportation of general, containerised, oversized and packaged cargo in various areas, including for big international clients.

Far East region first

The agreement was signed at the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg by Arkady Korostelev, president of FESCO, and Pavel Ilichev, GEFCO Group’s vice-president for finance and strategy and chairman of the board of directors.

The companies are going to focus on the Far Eastern region, allowing them to implement joint projects adding to each other’s competencies in logistic and customs procedures, digitalisation of services for key clients and other operational processes.
