Tilburg-Chengdu now available for LCL shipments

From this month onwards, Dutch logistics provider GVT Intermodal offers LCL shipments to and from China from its terminal in Tilburg. This benefits customers with a shipment smaller than a container load.

GVT Intermodal serves the rail freight connection between Tilburg in the South of the Netherlands and the Chinese hubs of Chengdu. With this service, cargo from various shippers is collected and combined with that of other shippers, the company explained. It provides the service in both directions.

East or West

The service is also available for non-palletised products, such as machines or bulk goods. The advantage is that shippers do not need to book a full container if he does not have the volume for this. After arrival in China or the Netherlands, GVT handles the shipment based on individual requests. This includes for example customs clearance or further transport.

The LCL service in eastbound may also be used for products that Western European exporters want to exhibit in the Holland Pavilion in Chengdu. This is a trade fair organised by GVT Intermodal offering the opportunity to bring Dutch merchandise to the attention of Chinese importers.
