UIC seminar on inland freight and transcontinental corridors
The International Union of Railways (UIC) and International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) will put the spotlight on inland freight hubs and transcontinental corridors when they jointly organise the 8th annual Market Place Seminar in September.
Duisburg in Germany is staging the event under the heading ‘Inland Hubs: Key towards rail freight corridor development’. Four themed sessions are planned: transcontinental corridors; myth or reality for business development?; connecting landlocked regions; accessibility of freight corridors; and paperless, online & real-time.
Lively exchanges
The UIC-FIATA Market Place Seminar offers a business oriented platform for all logistics chain stakeholders, and fosters interactive and lively exchanges on transport solutions and business opportunities. Features include speakers from renowned companies from the logistics sector, railway undertakings and corridor development organisations.
The event takes place on September 14-15. A detailed programme will be available in due course, but anyone wishing to participate can email their paper proposal to the technical committee at mps@uic.org
