RFI to start feasibility study to reopen line linking Turin to Switzerland

The Italian infrastructure manager Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) allocated five million euros to fund a feasibility study for the possible reactivation of the Arona-Santhià line, northeast of Turin. Reopening this railway would create a direct connection between the city and Switzerland, whereas, currently, trains need to detour east through Milan.
