‘We will rail you’, says chief of Transcontainer Europe
Born in Germany and raised in Russia, Alexander Mironow has the best of both worlds to manage a company that connects those two worlds by train. In March 2021 he took the post of managing director at Transcontainer Europe, a company that feels like family, he says.
As part of the RailFreight series CEO Talks, we sat down the executive in backstage lounge during the European Silk Road Summit in Amsterdam. Here, we talked to him in length, not only about his new career step but also about his life, ambitions and dreams.
Double role
His ‘double role’ is a returning topic in the conversation. His ability to understand both cultures, have a network in both countries and speak both languages give him an added advantage in the rail freight industry. But it also means love for two soccer teams, family in both worlds and a lot of traveling.
Asked which message he would like to convey to the industry, he says: “We will rail you”. “And this is not meant in a bad way, but we want to do rail and we want to do it together”, he explains. In this 17-minute interview, the managing director of Transcontainer Europe gets a face. Do you want to get to know Alexander Mironow a little better? Have a look at the video.
