NUNNER Logistics opens new office in Switzerland

NUNNER Logistics will open a new branch in St Gallen, Switzerland on 1 May. The new company will focus primarily on developing rail activities in and between Europe, Central Asia and China. In addition to Switzerland, the new location will serve nearby markets of Germany, Austria and Italy.

Tufan Khalaji becomes the director of the new company. Khalaji has more than 13 years of experience in rail logistics and was most recently active as Managing Director of ÖBB – Rail Cargo Group (RCG) in Vienna, and as Managing Director of InterRail Services in Berlin. In addition to his position at NUNNER, Khalaji also remains active as the director of the International Rail Freight Association (IBS).

Expansion

“To further strengthen our strong position in rail transportation to and from China, we want to expand with our own branch in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and Italy”, said Erwin Cootjans, CEO of NUNNER Logistics. “We are proud to have signed with Tufan Khalaji, who has vast experience, a network and entrepreneurial qualities to realise our ambitions.”

Tufan Khalaji adds: “I cannot wait to develop these new market for NUNNER. NUNNER is one of the most progressive and digitised logistics companies on the New Silk Road and I see great possibilities to further expand this business. In addition, I will focus on developing intermodal solutions between Western Europe and Southeast Europe, and respectively Turkey.”
