The ePIcenter synchromodal freight optimisation algorithms have a big impact in terms of efficiency, GHG reductions and increased modal shift to rail. ePIcenter is an innovation initiative led by Port of Antwerp-Bruges, including major Silk Road players such as DHL, Duisburg, BTE and PKP. These next-gen algorithms, developed by MJC2, are significant because they cope with very large, complex freight operations, and can lead to 10+% reduction in costs and GHG emissions.

Yes, by far the safest and most energy effective, on shore transport device, but hampered as short of robustness, challenges are obvious – and a Shift now is needed!
As a most mature industry, indeed “facit” is present – and to learn from…
Why is currently, for majority, the on road trucks, the single alternative, at cargo transports?
Was in fact, turning auto mobil the Shift, that ensured Edge?, etc.
(May be, Strategy valid, one century ago, now has turned optimal for railways, etc.?…)
