Buy or rent locomotive and wagon capacity online

Hundreds of companies rent, sell or purchase wagons and locomotives capacity via the digital platform RAILVIS.com. This is the conclusion half a year after the website was launched. “When I first heard of it, I only wondered why this wasn’t done before”, says Ctirad Klimánek, the new Executive Director of the Czech firm.

The offer of free capacities of wagons and locomotives for rent counts to hundreds of wagons and dozens of locomotives, and is steadily increasing. Every week, more than ten bookings take place. A novelty is the sale of locomotives and wagons through the platform.

In May, RAILVIS.com launched RAILVIS HUB, which is an exclusive presentation of companies throughout the global railway market with an intelligent search engine according to business focus and geographical operations.

New Executive Director

Klimánek had at that point just joined the company. He started working for RAILVIS in April this year, after he had been working in railway logistics for more than 13 years. He was previously stationed in Berlin, where he held important managerial positions, in companies such as GEFCO, Forwardis and ČD Cargo. He understands as no one else the importance of international relations in the rail freight industry.

European market, single platform

RAILVIS gathers companies from all over Europe, among them Ermewa, Railpool, PJSC TransContainer, Budamar, CZ Loko and many others. According to Klimánek, it brings a new dimension to the industry, thanks to a transparent interconnection of all European partners with an overview of all available free capacities.

“I am 100 per cent motivated to bring all my international experience and contacts from the rail freight and intermodal logistics to this necessary platform. In addition to acquiring new partners and leading a sales team, I will focus on further development and new functions that are needed in our field and gradually make all railway processes more effective. I believe that this is a path that will bring the entire railway logistics more prestige and an increased share in the general transport market.”
