This is RailFreight Live this week

It started with a cool train from Spain to the Netherlands, but soon fresh fruits and vegetables will be on the train to all corners of Europe. That is the ambition of FFWD Fresh Rail, and the topic of discussion of today’s RailFreight Live.

What does it take to transport fresh produce across Europe by rail? FFDW knows that setting up a dedicated train is not the easiest thing. Coordinating the whole supply chain door-to-door and controlling the shipments is one challenge. Moreover, convincing that rail is capable of delivering these objectives is another hurdle.

In today’s RailFreight Live, founders of the company Fred Lessing and Mark Remie will share their thoughts and considerations from our studio in Rotterdam. This will be followed by a call with Sanne Kaasjager, Economic Counselor of the Dutch Embassy in Poland. He will explain why the Polish rail freight market is an interesting place to be. Perhaps he has a word of advice for the FFWD Fresh Rail founders, who have their eyes on Poland as a next destination.

In the meantime, RailFreight.cn reporter Huilin Shii is in Tilburg (the Netherlands) to report on the arrival of the first train from Nanjing. We will have a live connection with Huilin to hear what is going on in the Dutch hub on the New Silk Road.
