New railway service Rotterdam-Munich

New railway connection Rotterdam-Munich

The railway connection between Rotterdam and Munich has been replaced with a new service. This service has a few advantages, with the aim to improve quality and reliability. This was announced by European Gateway Services (EGS), part of Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam.

With the new railway service, all trains call on Hutchison Ports ECT Delta andHutchison Ports ECT Euromax, both situated at the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam. Direct connections with the other terminals are possible based on port transfers. In addition, the cargo closing time has been made more attractive, according to the logistics provider.

Frequency

The frequency of the service remains unchanged; the trains arrive in Munich on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. However, a new carrier has jointed the partners; the German railway company BoxXpress will provide the journey on the German side of the border.
