Intelligent Rail Summit 2017 starts today – watch the live webinar

The Intelligent Rail Summit in Vienna has started today – and you can follow it all online. This year’s new webinar feature makes it easy to follow all of the sessions that feature keynote presentations on Automatic Train Operation and Cyber Security in Rail.

More than 100 rail professionals have already registered to join their peers at the Wiener Linien Infocenter for what promises to be a fascinating three days of presentations, discussion and debate on some of the innovative technologies that are preparing the rail sector for the technological demands of the future.

Ensuring safety standards

A host of high profile speakers are confirmed for Vienna, including Richard Koch from Ricardo Rail, who will talk about the challenges of ensuring safety standards for Automatic Train Operation. Lex van der Poel, Director of Dual Inventive, will share his thoughts on how the ‘Internet of Things’ can benefit railways; and Lovan Pushparatnam, of the French intelligent transport systems association ATEC-ITS will stress how important it is for the railway industry to keep pace with cyber security threats.

Today’s focus is on Automatic Train Operation; day two (Nov 29) on Cyber Security in the rail industry; and day three (Nov 30) will feature technical visits to the operational control centre & automatic (driverless) turnback of the Wiener Linien UTO Metro Project. The Intelligent Rail Summit 2017 is being organised by ProMedia Europoint, in cooperation with Technical University of Delft, Ricardo Rail, the International Union of Railways, Algo4Rail, Wiener Linien and the Technical University of Graz.
