What are the optimal hinterland connections and which roles can different companies play in this? This and more will be extensively discussed on Thursday 25 October during the second edition of Hafen Hinterland Konferenz in Nuremberg, Germany.

The connection between transport and industry, between shipper and logistics, is of crucial importance. Therefore, big shippers as Bosch Siemens en Bruder Spielwaren will contribute to this conference, explaining their choice of modality in the transport of goods to the hinterland.

Road or rail?

Leonhard Heinisch, project manager combined transport at the Studiengesellschaft für den Kombinierten Verkehr (SGKV) will dive into the decision to opt for road or rail; he will touch upon bimodal concepts, the future of inland terminals and digitalisation strategies.

Marko Just, Projectmanager at the Logistics Competence Centre (LKZ Prien) will elaborate on the future trailer as a cornerstone of intermodal transport. Rail is environmentally friendly, but does it also provide for the most cost-effective solution? he asks.

Networking

During the conference, participants meet professionals from the entire logistics chain, from the Netherlands and Germany, from the port and the hinterland. A good time to network, enter into partnerships and deepen knowledge. Complete your registration here, or read more about the event. This event is organised by Nieuwsblad Transport and the German trade journal DVZ. Note: the official language is German.
