PKP Cargo signs coal contracts worth 138 million Polish złoty
The Polish state-owned rail freight operator PKP Cargo has signed three contracts for the transportation of coal. The contracts, signed with the energy company Enea Group, have a value of 138 million Polish złoty (32,2 million euros).
According to PKP Cargo, the company won a tender for the contracts that will allow it to supply coal from the Lubelski Węgiel Bogdanka mine to the Kozienice power plant in eastern Poland.
“The potential of PKP Cargo, measured by the number and weight of transported goods, but also by the resources it has at its disposal – and these are large, shows that it is worth strengthening it by undertaking cooperation, primarily commercial”, the company’s acting president Marcin Wodewódka said.
Increased trust
“The agreement signed with the Enea Group, our long-term business partner, is a step in the right direction for both parties. As a company, we are taking a number of actions to improve bottlenecks in many areas, which gives hope for better efficiency, efficient functionality of units and operational areas, and above all, reconstruction and increased trust in the tycoon we believe we will still be.”
For his part, Enea Group’s president Rafał Soja stated: “I am convinced that our cooperation will be beneficial for both parties, and our business partner – PKP Cargo will ensure efficient and reliable supplies. For years, the energy industry has been successfully using the potential of railways in Poland to transport fuel, taking care of the country’s energy security”.
