Extra weekly Antwerp-Metz rail shuttle
The rail shuttle between the Port of Antwerp and Metz is increasing to two trips a week, says operator Multi-Modal Rail (MMR).
It comes just a year after the service was introduced, and offers shippers extra flexibility for connecting to deepsea services in the North Sea port, and import/export consignments in France’s Alsace-Lorraine region. It could also be extended to three services a week.
Market demand
The shuttle now leaves on Monday and Wednesday from the port’s main hub, and arrives the following day at the MMS terminal in Metz. Benjamin Hotter, General Manager of MMR, said: “If there is sufficient market demand we will raise the frequency still further, to three times per week.”
